Second-generation Winemaker Luisa Ponzi was one of the first to recognize the potential of Chardonnay in Oregon. For over 25 years she has been perfecting her distinct style which comes through brilliantly in this limited bottling from our Aurora Vineyard. This site is home to some of the earliest plantings of Dijon-clones, resulting in wines that are elegant and beautifully textured.
The Chardonnay grapes for this single vineyard cuvée were grown on Laurelwood soil at Ponzi’s LIVE Certified Sustainable Aurora Vineyard located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. These vines were planted in 1990.
"This bright nose of mandarin, salt water taffy, candied lemon rind, light spice and flint complement the hints of caramel, oyster shell, golden melon and sultanas in this balanced and refined mouth. The lightly textured mid-palate leads to a long and balanced finish.”
